Training for students completed

Wildfire preparedness and awareness training for students was held in Pozantı on 18–20 November 2024.

The main objective of the project is to increase the capacity of local authorities for forest protection and wildfire response, making them more resilient to potential natural disasters. Within this framework, a comprehensive training programme for students was organised on 18–20 November 2024 to improve preparedness for wildfires and raise awareness in the district of Pozantı.

The training focused on rapid and effective fire response methods, measures to be taken before and after a fire, basic firefighting techniques and environmental awareness. Information was also provided on preventive strategies to reduce fire risks, and the students were encouraged to take an active part in these processes.

Delivered interactively by expert trainers, the sessions included both theoretical information and practical exercises. This enabled the students to gain both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. By the end of the training, the participants had gained basic awareness and knowledge of fighting fires.
