A networking meeting was held on 26 November 2024 to strengthen the wildfire preparedness and response capacity of local authorities, improve forest protection work and increase cooperation among project stakeholders.
The meeting was hosted by the project leader, Pozantı Municipality.
Purpose of the meeting
- To assess strategic cooperation opportunities for increasing the resilience of local authorities to wildfires,
- To strengthen knowledge sharing among project partners on climate change and environmental protection,
- To build new partnerships and networks to increase the impact of the project activities,
- To discuss examples of good practice in forest protection, fire prevention and response.
At the meeting, the current progress of the project was reviewed and ideas were exchanged on adopting innovative methods in forest protection work. Steps towards building a long-term and sustainable culture of cooperation among the project partners were also discussed.
